Week 16 : 1st Attempt Plagiarism check

For this week, I had submitted the report to my supervisor to be check for the plagiarism. After several hour, I had received an email from my supervisor about the result of my report. My supervisor said that for overall form chapter 1, 2 and 3 the plagiarism is 42 %. My supervisor ask me to revise the report and make it below 20%. My supervisor also ask me to combine the chapter together so that the percentage ratio will be lower.

Week 15 : Content of the Report

The content of Chapter 1 is, background of the project which also called as an introduction of the project. Inside the Chapter 1 also there were a problem statement which this project can solved, the objective of the project is where the goal of the project to be achieved. Next, the significance of the project is about why the project is important to be done. Lastly, the scope and limitation is about the focus of the project and also the things that the project cannot do.

Furthermore, for Chapter 2 is all about the previous research that had been done regarding the project, for example, the method that was used to build the project, what component that was used to do the project and many more. For the last one, Chapter 3 is where the important things about the project was stated. It is such as the block diagram that tells about the flow of the project, what software and hardware that was used to build the project. There were also the flow chart which tells about how the project works. Next, the Gantt chart is the important thing because it is really help the person to manage the schedule of project accordingly. Last but not least, the costing of the project, is where each of the component price was being estimated, so that it will be easier for me to manage the budget.

Week 15 : Doing a Report

I am doing the report for the whole week, since my supervisor request me to submit her a completed report next week because he want to check for plagiarism. The plagiarism check was crucial due to the policies of the University and also to avoid the imitating culture become rampant. According to my supervisor, the percentage of plagiarism should not exceed 20%.

Week 14 : Making a Final Year Project 1 Report

After the Presentation Day last week, my supervisor Madam Norhayati required me to do and send the report regarding of my project. The report consist of Abstract, Chapter 1 (Introduction), Chapter 2 (Literature Review),Chapter 3 (Methodology) , Reference and Appendix. For the abstract, I had already previously on week 7. The content of Chapter 1 was an introduction about the project. Next, for Chapter 2 is all about the previous research that has been done regarding the project, for example, the method that was used to build the project. Lastly, the methodology is about the explanation of method that was used to do the project, the time schedule of the project and also the estimated cost to do the project. The due date to submit the report was on week 17.

Week 13 : Presentation Day (Final Year Project 1)

On 17th October 2018 become a big day for Final Year Project 1 student, after all the research that had been made for the proposed project. It is time for the Project Proposal Presentation Day for Final Year Project 1. The event held at Dewan Gemilang Unikl Bmi, it start at 2.30 p.m until 5.00 p.m. Next, each student were given 2 different assessor, me myself got Kamalulfaizin Bin Mohd Suhut and Hazizulden Bin Abdul Aziz .

Week 12 : Preparing the Slide Presentation

For this week, all Final Year Project 1 student need to make a slide presentation for upcoming Project Proposal presentation day. The student need to follow the guideline that was given by the final year project committee during the briefing before. I also meet with my supervisor, to show the slide presentation that i had done. It seems that i need to fix the block diagram and the flowchart part of the slide. The rest is good according to her.

Week 11 : Research and Finding


 Flow Chart

On tops of shows the flow chart of this project. Firstly a soil moisture will be detect level of moisture which it dry or wet, while temperature and humidity  sensor will detect the amount encompassing temperature either high or low.  If the wetness sensing element result's dry and therefore the temperature sensing element is high, the sensing element can send data to Arduino, and it'll trigger to fertiliser valve and water valve. The fertilizer and water will  be watering into the plant until the soil is wet and obtain enough fertilized.

Week 10 : Writing Literature Review

Wekk 8 : Research and Finding

Week 7 : The 2nd Briefing (29/8/2018)

The 2nd briefing of fyp1 was conducted on 29/8/2018 at TTL2. The briefing is about workshop on Introduction (Chapter 1) and Literature Review (Chapter 2) and was conducted by Dr Imran Mohamad Sofi. In this workshop, the invited speaker have taught us about :

  • Understand the significance of writing a good technical proposal for FYP1.
  • Understang the correct ways of writing a solid introduction and literature review chapters in technical proposal.
  • Write this two chapter with good writing skills.

Week 6 : Abstract

Agriculture plays a vital role in developing countries . In Malaysia, most of population depend on agricultural farming . Many issues hindering the development of agriculture in developing countries . Hence the project aims at making Automatic plant watering system and IOT technology . The highlighting feature of this project includes smart irrigation with smart control and intelligent decision making based on accurate real time field data . Secondly monitoring the operation via android application in any smartphone.In this project using a three sensor such as soil moisture sensor,temperature and humidity sensor,level sensor. The moisture sensors will be detect amount of water (water content) of the various plants. If the moisture level is found to be below the required level the moisture detector sends the signal to the Arduino board that triggers the Water Pump to show ON and provide the water to the plant. Once the required moisture level is reached the system halts on its own and therefore the Water Pump is turned OFF. To improve the reliability of solar power, a new field of study is currently being developed of an inteligent powered plant watering system

Week 5 : Confirmation of project title

I went to meet my supervisor, Sir Akram to disscussing about my project detail and project title. After done some discussion, my project title is "Development of an inteliggent solar powered plant watering system". I've been told to do some research and find a journal based on the project and submit the abstract about the project before mid-semester break which is week 8.

Week 4 : Surveying a title

After much thinking and researching, I have decided to take a project about automatic plant watering sytem

The synopsis :-

        The project is Automatic plant watering system and IOT technology.  The highlighting feature of this project includes smart irrigation with smart control and intelligent decision making based on accurate real time field data . Secondly monitoring the operation via android application in any smartphone.In this project using a three sensor such as soil moisture sensor,temperature and humidity sensor,level sensor. The moisture sensors will be detect amount of water (water content) of the various plants. If the moisture level is found to be below the required level the moisture detector sends the signal to the Arduino board that triggers the Water Pump to show ON and provide the water to the plant. Once the required moisture level is reached the system halts on its own and therefore the Water Pump is turned OFF.

Week 3 : Selecting a Supervisor

I scouted for a lecturer to be my supervisor for my Final Year Project, preferably from Electrical Section. Most of the preferable lecturers are unavailable to be my supervisor because they had reached the allocated number of students for each lecturer. As for that, searching process keep going to other section and luckily I decided to search for lecturers that are still available to be the supervisor for FYP. So, I went to find lecturer that available and meet Sir Mohd Akram bin Dandu, which is one lecturer of Section of the Electrics Engineering.

Week 2 : The Briefing

The first week of July 2018 semester started. All FYP 1 candidates have to attend the briefing on 25/7/2018, held by a few of FYP committees at the TTL 2 hall. Here are some of the contents obtained during the briefing: 
  • All students must find the supervisor of their choice.
  • The FYP title must be suitable and be submitted to the supervisor which is then registered to the FYP website (fyp.bmi.unikl.edu.my)
  • Any progresses must be reported to the supervisor and recorded in a blog/logbook.
  • The title of our project must be registered until week 6.
